Loving and mentoring Blessings students is an investment of great honor. It has been the greatest privilege to come alongside them and give them direction and hope for the future.

"I'm currently a part of the Blessings Program. Before I joined, a family member was taking care of my daughter while I attended school. Every morning it was hard leaving her because she never wanted to go, and I never knew what she would be doing, or if she was safe. After joining Blessings, I found an amazing daycare that my daughter loves going to everyday. It's so much easier to attend school when I know my baby is in a safe, reliable place. As a single parent, and a full time student, I could never afford daycare by myself. Blessings blessed me with financial support so that I can attend school knowing my child is safe. Because of Blessings, I've been able to concentrate more on my school work which allowed me to be on the honor roll and have a 4.0 GPA. Not only do they help me and my daughter financially, they've helped me build my relationship with Christ, they help us when we are in need, they help us when we are sad, angry, or upset. Being a part of Blessings is just like being apart of another Family. They help people when they're down, and any member of Blessings is more than happy to assist anyone in any way possible. I'm proud to be a Blessings student, and they always show me and tell me that they're proud of me."

Blessings is a wonderful program for teen mothers. Blessings educates young mothers about pregnancy, parenting, and abstinence. It is also a safe and comfortable environment to seek guidance. I am thankful for Blessings. I do not think my words can even express my gratitude.
I became pregnant at the age of 16 and gave birth to my son at the age of 16. As a sophomore, I was able to continue high school, maintain a well above average GPA, play sports and work due to Blessings assisting with childcare expenses for my son. I graduated on time, with my class my senior year. I received a scholarship through the Kiwanis Club and attended the University of Akron where I received my Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies. I then went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree at Ursuline College with my major being Legal Studies. Blessings contributed to all these accomplishments.
Not only does Blessings assist with parenting skills and faith but also with continuing education, which is key to young mothers. Blessings showed me I was not only able, but also capable, of beating the statistics that are placed upon teen parents. I am now 32 and have a successful career as a Paralegal. My son is now 16 and he knows my story, and went through it all with me. He appreciates me, and his teenage years that much more, knowing the obstacles we have overcome.
P.S. Not only is my son smart, handsome, and athletic, he is a wonderful big brother to my daughter, who is now six.

I can’t imagine what my life would be like without Blessings. The mentorship program and monthly meetings were something I always looked forward to while in the program. I am thankful every day for the relationships that are still continuing with Blessings and the support they gave me through my high school years.

Thank you Blessings for your financial, spiritual and emotional support when I needed it most. I continue to apply many of the lessons that I learned from my mentor(s) to my life today. I still have and use the budget forms that I received during one of our meetings. I have passed several copies on to my family, friends and clients. The generosity of Blessings will always warm my heart. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to my family.

Two years ago this Spring I didn't know that I had two holes in my ♡ that needed filled. I wouldn't know that when I said yes to being a mentor to Kylee and her daughter Lily that my two missing pieces in my heart would be complete. I love these two beyond words. Watching the joy in their eyes last night at our Blessings Christmas party reminded me of the meaning of Christmas. Not the presents, but the joy of the waiting for Jesus to be born. Kylee is one of the most selfless people I have ever met even in her young age. She blesses me more than she could know and reminds me daily of what life is about. Lily is her precious gift from God and she is an amazing mom to her. I love you both so much. I thank God for you both and look forward to continuing to watch you grow and watch God's plans unfold for you. My cup overflows with the two of you in my life!
